Årsta Hub Part ll - Dark Store Tower.

Årsta Hub is a project about transformation, transportation and architecture. The three main catchwords throughout the project have been structure, form and space, which together form the resulting ”Dark Store Tower” in connection with a new commuter train station for the area of Årsta Partihallar.

The tower is designed to sort and store dry, refrigerated and frozen goods whose logistics is operated by people in symbiosis with the robotic Auto Store System. By choosing such a system, we had the unconventional possibility to create a more efficient, high-density storage in vertical direction.

Transitioning from abstract ”stocks ” to actual architecture, this project allowed us to develop actual built structure and create space from basic stack-modeling. From the first reference image of density to the last detail of construction, the Årsta Hub project is created to work flawlessly between the different communications of our daily life.
