Henriksdal Elementary School is the inspiring expansion of Henriksdal in Stockholm, Sweden. The brand new piano like building works as a modern communicator between public transport, housing and city nature. The plot has before been a soulless place witch with its emptiness held these factors apart. This created barriers, insecurity and lack of characteristics. This is now meant to be changed.

Henriksdal Elementary School is placed alongside of Henriksdalsallén. It is directed towards northwest and embraces the view of Henriksdalskajen together with the rest of Södermalm. The school is meant to be inviting to everyone and the building works towards making the area around it safe and secure in favor of its visitors, especially the children.

Communication has been the most important catchword during the evolving of Henriksdal Elementary School. Both in larger and smaller scale. Classrooms and social spaces work in symbiosis in this complex but clear plan. Students and teachers share all of the schools levels with defining glass walls, making it easier for both parts to find, meet and observe each other. The building in its whole is the piece thats currently been missing when key areas around Stockholm like Slussen, Gullmarsplan and Nacka grows in development.
