Growth.
In cooperation with Vaasa stad, I got the opportunity to create an entire new future site plan of Wärtsilä industrial area. I immediately decided on trying something different.
I tried working with the many definitions of growth as a concept, closely connected with the site of Wärtsilä in Vaasa, Finland. I also tried relying on imagination, both f the observer and from a creators point of view. Imagining and drawing only the parts that are exposed, the brain later generates an idea of what is hidden, simulating life and vibrance into a dense, organic and dynamic cityscape. Growth of imagination in close parallel with the imagination of growth.
From this starting point I started to draw, letting head, hand and pencil really decide on the produced architecture following the underlying grid of empty industrial block structures. In this process, I let the first building become inspiration for the second , and the second for the third etc, generating the whole image. This is most commonly seen in the cities of the real worl
